She has a secret sex club within the facility called Club Inferno. Mallory and her sister Colleen’s relationship seemed strained to me but yet Mallory still felt Colleen would help keep her safe and she did. Colleen had one of her employee’s take her under his protection as her bodyguard. Max works at Couture as a martial arts instructor in the resort and as a skilled Dom in the sex club, setting up erotic scenes for club members. There is an immediate spark between Mallory and Max. Max is very much attracted to Mallory and he plans to show her that BDSM and sexual fantasy can be fun. Max is a sweet Dom who guides Mallory into a whole new world. He helps her work through her fear of her ex-boyfriend David and helps her to get her life back. She helps him to get over his abusive childhood and deal with a tragedy in his life. Their relationship builds nicely.
I almost gave 3.5 stars because the story dragged a little at times but the author picked it up for me at around 68% into the book, then at the end tying up (pun intended) the main plots with the main characters. The sex scenes were creative and steamy Max really knows how to set up a scene. I would not call him a 24/7 Dom I felt that Max came off as an in the bedroom kind of Dom which seemed to work for the story. Mallory is submissive in the bedroom but considering she is new to all of the BDSM stuff I don’t think she would have been believable as a submissive all the time.
Mallory’s ex-boyfriend issues, Max’s daddy issues and their relationship all gets put together at the end I like that in a series. Nice HEA for this couple as well as giving us a glimpse into the next couple Anya and Clint (Longing). I was a little disappointed that Colleen and Chase’s story isn’t next because I was really intrigued by their story even though we only got bits and pieces of their issues.

This is the first book I have read by this author. I really enjoyed it. If fact I read it straight thru. The story moves well, the characters are very interesting, especially some of the peripheral ones. I look forward to reading more.
I really liked this book it had great sex and Max and Mallory were great together, she ran from an abusive situation and he worked at Club Inferno. I have to admit it was hard to put the book down. The club was certainly a surprise I do not want to give anything away but I think you would enjoy this book as much as I did.
Way too much going on to keep straight! Max is a karate expert, BDSM instructor/Dom, clothing designer? Mallory managed to make it through mad school but seems really meek for having such a take charge profession. Couture is a clothing design, BDSM club/school and they have night clubs and places for MMA fights? Yowza! Give me a map because I am lost!
What a storyline. So much is going on. After two months of running away from her ex, Mallory finally goes to her sister Colleen for help. This is where everything starts to happen
Not what I was expecting but really enjoyed this and would highly recommend it. Some hot sex scenes and BDSM BUT A great story also.
This book is great from start . it leaves you wanted to keep reading it to the end .love the story as it so different from most abuse books and love the sister and her crazy club .her club offer any thing you want or need it not just a bdsm club but one that caters to all kind of stuff and hope it bring a second book for some more fun . love get a hold of book that does not get boring in middle . this one does not .
I wasn't quiet sure what I expected but I was pleasantly surprised with the sweet love story between Max and Mallory. The sex scenes were hot, but they didn't go over the top to they took over the story. I've read a few of the reviews here and yes, Max is not a domineering, jerk of a dom. He was smart enough to know what Mallory needed to feel comfortable. Who wouldn't love a guy who put your needs first? I'm looking forward to reading book 2, Longing, which is already downloaded to my .

She's feminine and feisty...and she experiences a sexual awakening when she stays at "Couture", her sisters' sex club/business.
Max Spencer is a kindhearted and sexy man who works as a martial arts instructor at "Couture". He's also a confident, strong and intelligent Dom at "Club Inferno", a dungeon club within Couture. He is comfortable with who he is and what he does...and he does it well. He meets Mallory and a bond of trust quickly grows between them.
This story was fairly "cut and dried" with no big drama or pretense. A girl on the run finds refuge at a Sex Club and experiences her wild side. The wild side of Couture is fairly tame and weak with little steam. The author sets up some great erotic/intimate scenes and then stops short. There were no surprises. All in all, the writing and dialogue were balanced well with the narrative as Ms. Schmidt set's a mediocre pace with a predictable plot. The novel tackles a few serious issues such as domestic abuse and drug abuse. I have to admit however... this story kept me entertained and turning the pages...and I'll probably read more of this author.
